This hackathon project explored transformer-based detection of rip-current patterns from live beach-camera video.
The intended deployment surface was a lifeguard-tower camera workflow that could flag potentially hazardous wave patterns for human review. The project is presented as an applied ML prototype, not as a validated safety system or a replacement for trained lifeguard judgment.
